I am a patent attorney with twelve years of experience, working independently. Most of my practice has been in intellectual property law: all aspects of patent law, trade secrets, and trademark law. This includes US and international (Patent Cooperation Treaty, Madrid trademarks systems) practice.

Over the years my practice had been centered around start-ups, from helping prenascent inventors pro bono to building robust IP portfolios and helping navigate early rounds of investments. In recent months I moved into serving established clients with annual revenues $20MM-$100MM. I serve only a small number of clients.
The technologies I deal with have been about equally divided between software and hardware: mobile gaming, multi-mode user interfaces, advanced communications, social networks, optics (lasers, LiDAR), advanced smart home appliances, advanced materials and biotechnology.

Some of the adjacencies in my practice involve strategic corporate and technology counselling, helping set up and operate corporate governance structure, investor relations, corporate securities, employment law, copyright, data and privacy protections, and government sanctions and boycott practice.

I am looking forward to an opportunity to share some of my war stories with this amazing group of people in Minnesota and beyond.!
